INTRODUCTION: Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), the Indian subsidiary of Unilever PLC (Unilever), recorded a degrowth of -2.6% in sales, going from Rs.117.81 billion in 2001 to Rs.108.88 billion in 2004 (Refer to Exhibit I).
